How it works
A tinted background can make long documents easier to read on screen and marks a printed copy as distinct from an original. The colour is drawn beneath the existing content, which means the document is rebuilt — pdf-lib draws onto the top of a page, so anything simply added would cover the text rather than sit behind it.

- Will it print?
- Yes, and it uses ink. If you only want it on screen, do not use this.
- Will it hide my text?
- No. It is drawn behind the content.
- Can I use my own colour?
- Not yet. A small set of pale tints is available.
