Flatten a PDF

Flattening draws form field values into the page content and removes the fields, so nothing depends on how a reader chooses to render them. Importantly, it does not turn your pages into images: text stays selectable and searchable. If you need a completely flat document with no live content of any kind, that is Rasterize, and it costs considerably more.

Will my text stay searchable?

Yes. Flattening affects fields and appearances, not the page text.

Can I undo it?

No. Keep the original if you may need to fill the form again.

What if there is nothing to flatten?

Nothing is changed and the tool says so.
