How it works

Runs the checks that catch the problems printers actually hit: mixed page sizes, mixed orientation, fonts that are not embedded, live form fields whose appearance depends on the reader, annotations that may or may not print, and usage restrictions that some print workflows refuse. Each finding names the tool that fixes it.

Questions

What does preflight mean?
A check before printing, borrowed from the print trade. It catches the problems that are cheap to fix now and expensive after a print run.
It found nothing. Am I safe?
It checks the common failures, not everything. A proof print is still worth doing for anything important.
Which problem matters most?
Mixed page sizes. It is the one that most reliably produces an unpredictable result.
